'08 Regatta Final Results

The Fremont Lake Regatta is over with for the year. The turn out was amazing, with 27 boats competing.

Saturday had reasonable wind and we were able to run all 3 races on schedule. but Sunday left us drifting on the first race of the day, and the second race tested everyone's ability to eek the most speed out of their boat with the lightest of breeze.

We still have a few hats and shirts left. Call Jason (307-749-8788) if you would like to purchase one.

Joe and Flo Retel, John and Jackie Godfrey, and Gaylan West all pulled their boats out of their slips so that we could use them for Regatta, Thanks!

For the reception party, US Foods donated a prime rib, Corral Bar donated the keg of beer, and Jeff Goltz and Mindy Crab cooked up some of the fresh salmon and Halibut that they caught on their trip to Alaska. Thanks!

Lakeside Lodge is always so gracious to host this event, We are grateful that such a facility exists, and the owners allow us to use it each year. Thank you!

Lakeside Restaurant cooked a great dinner for the banquet of baked chicken, rice, corn, and baked potato. Thank you!

And of course we couldn't have a regatta without a race committee! Thanks to Cheryl Essington, Flo Retel, and John & Jackie Godfrey. And to our safety boats maned by Jeff Goltz and Joe Retel.

Thanks to all of the participants and spectators, without who we wouldn't have an event at all.

Thanks to everyone that helps make this event possible!

It's almost time again

Greetings to all!

This is just a quick note to say that information concerning the Fremont Lake Regatta...or whatever we have to call it thanks to those wonderful people at The America's Cup....will be forthcoming soon.  Life's insanities have made updating SailingKarma a lower priority but fear not.  We'll get info about next weekend up soon.  For people who are thinking of coming up, or already have plans to do so, Jason, Jed, and myself are taking Wednesday through Friday off from work and will be getting prepped for the event.  If you need help setting up or want to jump on a boat for a sail, give one of us a call.  Can't wait to see everyone.  I think that we'll have a good turnout of all types of boats and, as always, plan to have a great time sailing in circles!

New Website

Well, we've been working on a whole new website for SailingKarma.com, and here's the beginnings of it.

There's a section for Karma stuff, a section for Boatclub stuff, and a section for everything else, we also intend to add a section for Goodfellow (Jed's new snowcat) once we get some content put together for it.

Check back every once in a while, as this is a work in progress.

enjoy!
