This year's derby is Dedicated in Memory of Fred Boyce, A long time Boat Club member and a model father and fisherman.

Father’s Day Fishing Derby

Rules and Regulations

 

  1. The Derby will be held between the hours of 7:00 am and 4:00 pm on Father’s Day, The Derby Entry Fee is $10.00. Participants must be members of the Pinedale Boat Club. Memberships are available at the time of registration. Prizes will be awarded at 4:30 pm following the derby. Fish entered after 4:00 pm will be disqualified.
  2. Derby Headquarters will be located at Lakeside Lodge on Fremont Lake. Participants must register at Derby Headquarters before fishing in the Derby. A current Wyoming fishing license and conservation stamp must be presented at registration.
  3. All Wyoming Game & Fish rules and regulations apply and will be observed. Individuals may enter only one (1) fish per day.
    • All contestants must posses a valid Wyoming fishing license and abide by all Wyoming Fishing Regulations and Boating Regulations.
    • Fish may not be released after measuring / weigh-in. The angler entering the contest must keep all fish and apply them to their daily possession limit.
    • Sorting and releasing fish prior to weigh-in (culling) that have been reduced to possession is not permitted. Once a fish is in the angler’s possession, it cannot be released.
    • No angler may enter fish exceeding the daily possession limit
  4. Cash prizes will be paid for the five largest fish entered in the Derby. Individuals may win only one prize. A Derby official must weigh in fish at Derby headquarters. Decisions of the Derby officials are final and binding.
  5. The top five prizes will be determined by weight. Length will be used as a tiebreaker. Lake Trout must be 24” or longer to be entered. Participants are encouraged to release fish not meeting minimum length requirements. All fish must be freshly caught from Fremont Lake. Fishing outside Fremont Lake natural boundaries is prohibited.
  6. Participants are expected to practice good sportsmanship and conduct themselves in a responsible and safe manner. Violation of these rules and Regulations or Violation of Wyoming Fishing Rules and Regulations, will result in Disqualification and forfeiture of all prizes. Each participant assumes all risks and liabilities. The Pinedale Boat Club disclaims responsibility for any and all personal injury or other liability that might occur as a result of participation in the derby.
