The Regatta Formerly Known As The Little America's Cup*

Well, it is regatta time again, and as usual I'm about a week behind in all of the preparations. We missed the deadline for NPR advertising, so there were no radio adds this year, but don't fear, the event is happening none the less. Most things are happening as usual, but there are some things that participants should be aware of.

• The Forrest Service has reclassified the area that we call Catamaran Beach as day use and part of Sandy Beach. They are still allowing us to park our boats there for this event, BUT there is no camping allowed, and no cars or trailers are allowed! We must park in the Lakeside Boat yard, and camp either within Lakeside property, or in a legitimate Forrest Service camping area.
  
• As usual we will have our informal reception party on friday evening. If all goes well, there will be beer, snacks (smoked prime rib sandwiches), a camp fire (if the FS doesn't impose a burn ban), and a heavy dose of sailing lies. 
• Registration is $20/boat and you must be a boat club member ($15 membership)
• Banquet is saturday night. it is $20 per plate, and will be baked chicken. There will be an alternate (vegetarian) dish for those who don't like chicken.
• We will have Regatta hats and shirts for sale again.

*ACPI seems to think that they have some claim to Earl Holding's Little America (the original sponsor, and namesake of our regatta) .
